HOW TO PUT ON YOUR MASK

Before putting the mask on, please wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.  If you wear glasses, take them off, and put them on again once your mask is in place, so that they are over your mask.

1.  Hold the mask by the elastic loop, with the “pretty side” towards you and the side with the slot facing away from you.

2.  Pull the elastic loop over your head, so that the elastic is against the back of your neck, and pull it tight by pulling the two loose ends of elastic.

3.  Lift the mask up against your face, so that the slot is against your face and the mask sits at the top of your nose and extends below your chin.

4.  Pull the two loose ends of elastic tight so that the mask fits well against the side of your face, and tie it to fit at the top of your head.  (If it isn't tight against the sides of your face, pull the elastic some more until it is.  You may need to gather the fabric more against the elastic. If you try to tie it at ear level rather than higher on your head, it may be loose and baggy at the sides.  In this case, pull the elastic tighter, gather the fabric, and tie it higher up.  This design will fit snugly if put on properly.)

5.  There is a wire at the top of the mask.  Tweak it to make it fit across your nose.

And that's it.    (You may want to keep the elastic tied up - or sew it up - when you've found the right fit for yourself.)

If you wear glasses that keep getting fogged up, despite you putting them on top of your mask, watch this:

I have given away over 1000 masks. The last ones have all gone to charities and similar organisations - Sharewear, Nottingham & Notts Refugee Forum, Phoenix School foodbank, Host Nottingham . . .

I have decided to stop making them for individuals (unless you have a special request - e.g. hard to find size, special fabric; just ask) and concentrate on sewing for charities. My current batch is destined for St Anns Food Bank.

If you're a local (Notts) charity or good cause that would like some free cotton face masks, please do contact me.
